Croft Lettings View of Glossop Glossop is around 12 miles East of Manchester sitting at the foot of the Pennines. The market town has nearly every shop you could need, and the surrounding landscape and scenery make it ideal for walking and cycling.

The cities of Manchester and Sheffield are within easy reach, as are the towns of Stockport and Oldham, and The Trafford Centre is less than 30 minutes drive away.

Manchester is approx 30 mins drive away (although the rush hour can increase this journey time). Sheffield is linked by the A57 Snake Pass and will take around 50 mins, and Leeds via the A628 Woodhead Pass is around an hour away.

Manchester's orbital motorway, the M60, is withing easy reach providing access to all of Greater Manchester, the airport (25 mins approx) and on to the M6 etc

Manchester Airport is around 30 mins drive away, a straightforward drive down the M60 and M56, with international links worldwide.

There is a frequent rail service from the area into Manchester Piccadilly and from there easy links to other Manchester stations if required. Local stations are in Glossop, Hadfield, Dinting & Broadbottom.

There are regular bus services from Glossop to all surrounding villages, as well as onto Stalybridge, Stockport, Manchester, Ashton, Castleton etc.

Glossop is well served by plenty of local shops spanning butchers, fishmongers, fruit and veg, coffee shops, chemists, opticians and travel. There is also a recently refurbished Tesco supermarket on the edge of the town, and smaller local stores are well postioned throughout the area. There is an excellent swimming pool in Old Glossop, and comprehensive Leisure Centre in town, with Health Clubs a short distance away.

Local events are held throughout the year: one of the highlights is the Victorian Weekend in summer and there are many country shows held in nearby villages.

Glossop Town Centre is served by a wide variety of restaurants: whatever your favourite is there are some delicious venues to choose from. There are also plenty of pubs scattered around the area, many of them traditional country pubs with plenty of atmosphere, and some excellent meals.
